Don’t Spend, Mend

Textiles and Clothing – It costs to replace clothing but costs little to repair.

CFINE are happy to announce our new project under Zero Waste Scotland. Don’t Spend, Mend will be rolling out between now and Christmas 2016. To start we had a Fashion Friday last week seeing some loved garments being saved.

Want to get involved and save some money saving decent clothes in the process? Do you have a group of people in mind who may benefit from a workshop to learn the basics or the advanced? If so please register your interest to IDuncan@cfine.org

Please note that courses/tuition will be offered on a first come first served basis

Some notable examples from Fashion Friday 16th September:

This jumper was ready for the bin with a ripped seam under the arm and a moth hole on the front…  which took about 10 mins!!!! – See if you can spot the repair?

Full Cashmere retro Jacket from the 80’s which cost £7.50 from a charity shop – being chopped down to fit the owner !

A well loved but seriously ripped buffalo mountain shirt. Sleeves being un-salvageable , the shirt will be turned into a body warmer, saving some tears as it never got as far as the bin!
